Another exciting year in the history of the Austrian Championship took off in Sollenau this spring with more than 90% XRAY drivers on the starting grid.
Austrian drivers such as Richard Furtner, Björn Moser, Gerhard Kandelhart, Kurt Hubeny and many more were tough competition and had some incredible races this year with only a few points separating 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions after the last race of the year which took place in Kärnten, St. Paul in southern Austria. |

| The chances were pretty even with me being 40 points and ahead of Björn Moser and about 100 points ahead of Richard Furtner. Practice started on Saturday morning and I had some problems with my car so Björn Moser, Richard Furtner, Gerhard Kandelhart and Manuel Huber (who was attending his first Austrian National in a few years) were able to drive faster lap times than me. In particular, Manuel Huber bettered the track record three to four times during the race and was able to push his XRAY to the limit and show of his driving skills. But in the afternoon my dad dealt with the set-up problems and we were able to catch up with the other drivers. |

Sunday after qualification:
As expected, Huber took the lead with Kandelhart following in 2nd, then me (Manuel Singer) in 3rd, Furtner in 4th and Moser a bit behind in 6th position. The half finals went by and all the drivers we spoke of ⓠincluding Stiebler, Pittner, Völker, Meisinger, Engel ⓠwere able to bump up into the final. |

The finals went by and at the end I ended up being 1st, with Furtner getting 2nd and Kandelhart in 3rd place.
This last result also changed the end results of the Nationals with Furtner fighting off Moser and getting 2nd place. |
